Founded in 2025, Emerald City Knights Brazilian Jitsu. This gym is for kids and adult beginners that are looking to get into brazilian jiu jitsu. Coach Neil Capra is a brown belt under 4 stripe black belt professor Jason Bircher of Kansas City Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. location in south Kansas city near leawood.

- Neil Capra spent most of his life wrestling. He started at age 7 and his father coached him. After high school neil had a rough time dealing with alcohol and health issue due to that. After getting sober by age 27 neil began wrestling again at various open tournaments looking to find some purpose and get in shape. a mentor he met in r
- Neil Capra spent most of his life wrestling. He started at age 7 and his father coached him. After high school neil had a rough time dealing with alcohol and health issue due to that. After getting sober by age 27 neil began wrestling again at various open tournaments looking to find some purpose and get in shape. a mentor he met in rehab was a phycologist. One of the things he told neil to help get outside of himself was to go he a coach. so neil began volunteering at the local club where he grew up training. From there that lead to a local high school and middle school coaching job. One of the best things he did was learn to teach and filled him again with purpose. he was not only teaching technique, hard work, and mental toughness, he was helping those young men avoid some of the destructive paths he took. By the age of 36 Neil found his way into jiu jitsu and really loved competing and learning. He believes BJJ is the missing piece to wrestling. He had grappled over 20 years and now could take all that to combine with jiu jitsu to solve all kinds of grappling puzzle pieces. His goal is to bring that to his local south kansas city community and also to reach young people without positive male role models. He also believes Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the key to mental health, anxiety, and depression. people go through things in life that are emotional painful and uncomfortable. Jiu Jitsu is the way you learn how to be comfortable and happy being under duress. Currently at 9 years of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Coach Capra is a brown belt at KCBJJ under 4 stripe black belt Jason Bircher. He will continue training there and also be teaching Bjj under coach birches guidance at Emerald City BJJ located at Beautiful Body Tattoo and piercing.
